Male & Female Differences

Sandra Yancey Radio

This 5 minute interview with Sandra Yancey of eWomen will help you learn just a few differences between the male & female brain.

Do I have to make a comment on this? Of course we know that the brain of men and women are different.

In fact, the difference begins at six-week gestation. If there is a Y chromosome present the brain receives a chemical bath. This slows the maturation of the left hemisphere in the male brain and alters it in 12 areas, nine of them will be smaller.

Of course, there are those pesky hormones that also cause major differences between the sexes. One is the body mass. Did you know that in the male 90 percent of the body weight is strength, but in the female only 50 percent is strength. Yeah ladies, no wonder it is so much easier for a man to lose weight than a woman!

Here is a not-so-positive fact: Research on sexual terms show 10 times as many terms are for females than for males. One study listed 220 terms applied to women and only 22 applied to men. Most often the terms for males had a positive implication. However, most often the terms for women had a negative implication, which is definitely an area that could use some improvement.

We have a CD, "Communication Between the Sexes" that explores the difference in communication, workshops such as "Understanding How Your Brain Works" and others, that explore in depth the differences between male and female and how to appreciate them. But remember, when we say different, we are not saying better or worse, just simply different.
